Obituary for Fred Alvin Lowe
Mr. Fred Alvin Lowe, age 76, 609 West D Street, Elizabethton died Tuesday, February 21, 2012 at his residence. A native of Carter County, he was the son of the late Carson and Ruby Mcabee Lowe. Mr. Lowe retired from Whites Grocery Store and had been previously employed by North American Rayon Corporation. He was a U.S. Navy veteran. Mr. Lowe was of the Baptist faith and was a 32nd Degree Mason of Watauga Lodge #622 F&AM.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Patsy Joann Lowe and by a brother and two sisters, Hubert Lowe, Helen Brummit and Dorothy Blevins. Survivors include a daughter, Debbie Savage, Johnson City; two sons, David Lowe and wife Lisa, Port Monmouth, NJ and Darren Lowe and wife Jacque, Gray, TN; eight grandchildren, Andy Savage and wife Angela; Angie Savage, Alex Savage and wife Kassie, Amber Savage, Destiny Lowe, Zack Lowe, Abigail Lowe and Blake Lowe; two great-grandsons, Matthew Savage and Reece Thompson and a brother, Franklin Lowe and wife Cindy, Hickory, NC. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Graveside service for Mr. Fred Alvin Lowe will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Friday, February 24, 2012 in Mountain Home National Cemetery with Rev. Ken Hecht officiating. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Military honors will be accorded by the Carter County Honor Guard. Those planning to attend the graveside service will meet at the funeral home at 11:45 A.M. on Friday prior to the service.
The family will receive friends at Hathaway-Percy Funeral and Cremation Services from 5:00-7:00 P.M. on Thursday, February 23, 2012.
