MISHAWAKA IN. -- Floyd Frederick Beals, 84, of Mishawaka, died on Sunday, Nov. 9, 2008. Mr. Beals, a native of Elkhart, was an Army veteran of WWII, and retired from the Wheelabrator Corporation in 1983 after 32 years of service. Following retirement he was president of the Society for the Preservation of Old Mills for six years and was the keeper of the Mill List until he was too ill.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Betty Wallace Beals; four sons, Steven of Atlanta, GA, Robert of Mishawaka, Doug and his wife, Jackie of Osceola, and Scott of Mishawaka. Also surviving are five grandchildren, Brian Beals, Heather Warner, Angie Rydzinski, Reggie Beals and Stephen Beals; and four great-grandchildren, Alyssa, Jordan, Josh and Paige.

It was Fred's wish that he be cremated with no viewing or service, and we are honoring his wishes. Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 10776 McKinley Highway, is handling arrangements.
