LATHAM, George Edward, age 78 of
Friendsville, died early Wednesday
morning, January 4, 2006. He was
a Naval veteran of both World War
II and the Korean War. He later
went on to serve his country by
working-Oak Ridge at K-25 & Y-12
Plants. He actively participated
in the United Way while employed
at DOE. He was preceded in death
by his parents, James Oscar & Ella
Anva Latham of Maryville and his
grandmothers, Sally Latham and
Elizabeth Kerr, whom he loved all
dearly. Survivors include his wife
Clara Joyce Chambers Latham; their
daughter, Jana Gail Latham; their
daughter and son-in-law, Victoria
and Randall Butcher of Kodak;
grandsons, Justin & Jason Butcher;
sisters, Helen Gatlin of Louisville,
Jean Carpenter of Maryville, Jo
Harrison of Maryland; brothers, Don
Latham of Colorado and Kenneth
Latham of Florida. Family & friends
will meet at 10:00 a.m. Saturday at
Grandview Cemetery for a graveside
service, Rev. David Webster
officiating.
The family will receive friends
from 6-7:30 p.m. Friday-McCammon-
