He was born in Little Hope, Pennsylvania, March 21, 1873, son of the late Elisha and Mary Jane Riddell Lewis. He was a former school teacher and lumber dealer and owned the Lewis Wood Yard on Buffalo Rd. for many years. He lived in the Erie area most of his life.
He is survived by his wife, Christine Harvey Lewis, of Erie; a daughter, Mrs. Joseph (Mary Jane) Cook, of Erie; a son, Robert Lewis, of Corry; two grandchildren, and two nieces.
Friends may call at the Schmidt Funeral Home, 2926 Pine Ave., Saturday and Sunday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 10 p.m. and are invited to attend services Monday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Harold R. Kelly of Trinity Methodist Church officiating. Interment will be in Lowville Cemetery.
