Oscar Alex Hemphill of Rt. 1, Pineville, was found dead in his truck about 15 miles east of Ruston Saturday. He apparently died of a heart attack.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Ida Boyd Hemphill, two sons, Bobby Hemphill of Simmes and James Hemphill of Houston, Texas; two daughters, Mrs. Fredna Charrier of Houston, and Miss Edna Hemphill of Shreveport; four brothers, Herman Hemphill of Shreveport and James, Howard and Ples Hemphill of Winnfield; two sisters, Mrs. Frances McCartney of Trout, and Mrs. Beulah Wright of Georgetown; and nine grandchildren.

Funeral services were held in the chapel of Hixson Bros. Funeral Home at 2 p.m. Sunday with Reverends Roy Norton and J.A. Jones officiating. Burial was in Forest Lawn Memorial Park.

Pallbearers were C.B. Malone, Orren Guillot, James Cook, W.O. Moore, Jack Brister and C.E. Aslin.
