Mrs. Gladys Gertrude Andrews Mixon Rowland, age 99, of Newton, died Wednesday, October 16, 2013, at her home following an extended illness. Funeral services will be 10:00 A. M. Friday, October 18, 2013, in the Chapel of Holman Funeral Home in Ozark with Reverend Riley Enfinger and Reverend Mike Turner officiating. Interment will follow in Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery in Newton with Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday evening from 5:00 P. M. until 7:00 P. M. Mrs. Rowland was born September 26, 1914 in Dale County to the late Andrew Jackson "Jack" Andrews and Georgia Victoria Nichols Andrews. She was a homemaker and a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Newton. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Leslie Mixon and Alvy Rowland.; two sisters, Alice Andrews and Jewel Andrews Faulk; two brothers, Robert Andrews and Lewis Andrews. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Bethel Baptist Church, 2291 County Road 31, Newton, Alabama 36352.
