Nelda E. Alger, 88, of Champaign passed away at 6:28 p.m. Tuesday (Feb. 28, 2012) at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana.
She was born Dec. 14, 1923, in Detroit, Mich., to Harvey and Edna Underwood Alger.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother.
She was a professor at the University of Illinois, College of Life Sciences, for many years.
