Mary Kelsey Bennett, the second wife of John Bennett, died at her home in Leon last Sunday, of dropsy of the heart, aged 60 years.
The deceased was born in Coshocton County, Ohio where she resided until her eighteenth year, when she removed to Holmes County in the same state. In 1878 she located in Decatur County and was married to Mr. Bennett, October 22, 1884 at the age of 34.
When but 14 years of age, she joined the Baptist Church and ever since remained a faithful and consistent member. She had been in failing health since June last, but she bore her sufferings with Christian resignation and fortitude. The funeral services were held at the Palestine Church last Monday, of which the deceased was a member. The service was conducted by Rev. Joseph Edwards.
