THE PARIS NEWS, 29 Apr 1957: Mrs. Sallie A. Lockwood, 842 W. Houston St., died at home Monday at 6:45 p.m. after being in falling health the past year. Funeral services, Wednesday at 4 p.m., will be conducted at Fry and Gibbs Chapel by the Rev. John Shuler and burial will be made in Evergreen Cemetery. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Hugh Campbell, Miss Sallie Mae Lockwood and Mrs. Sam M. Weiss, and one granddaughter, Mrs. Robert Keener, all of Paris, and a sister, Mrs. Silas Westmoreland, Marshall. Daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. J.W. Grimes, Mrs. Lockwood was born at Marshall, 22 Jul 1870, and was married to James H. Lockwood, wholesale grain dealer and miller. His death occurred here 13 May 1919. Mrs. Lockwood, with two sisters and a girl cousin, joined the Methodist church, 18 Aug 1885 and she devoted much of her life afterward to its activities. She was a member of the women's missionary society, she was organizer of a junior division of this group and taught Sunday school 12 years.
