HAROLD BURTON GORDON
Harold B. Gordon, 7211 Mauck Road, Hillsdale, a retired farmer and Farm Bureau insurance agent, died Friday (May 16, 1997) at the home of his son. He was 86.
Mr. Gordon was born October 19, 1910, in Adams Township, the son of Harry J. and Mae (Sabin) Gordon. He graduated from North Adams High School in 1928, and attended Ypsilanti Normal College.
A lifelong Hillsdale County resident, he attended North Adams United Methodist Church, and also served on the Social Services Board when the Hillsdale County Medical Care Facility was constructed. He was also a member of the Good Sam Camping Club.
He married the former Ione Young on August 27, 1931, and she preceded him in death in 1991. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, R. John and Eva Gordon, of Hillsdale; a sister, Barbara Crall of Hillsdale; a brother, Harry Gordon of Hillsdale; nine grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; seven step-great-grandchildren, and a special friend, Vivian Laser of Hillsdale.
One son, Thomas H. Gordon, preceded him in death.
Funeral services were held at the VanHorn-Eagle Funeral Home, with the Rev. Rochelle Ray officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
