Funeral services for Hurtle Hugh Barnes of Hayti were held Tuesday, August 26 at 2:00 p.m. at the Calvary Baptist Church, Hayti, with the Rev. Glenn Harwood officiating. Interment was in Woodlawn Cemetery, Hayti, with Jimmy Osburn Funeral Home service. He was 60.
Mr. Barnes was born March 14, 1909 in Pemiscot County, Mo., the son of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Barnes. He died August 24, 1969 at the Pemiscot County Memorial Hospital, Hayti. Mr. Barnes was married to Miss Nora Sullivan in Hayti on November 6, 1932.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Nora Barnes, Hayti,; one son, Hugh Barnes, Jackson, Tenn.; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Barnes, Caruthersville; and two brothers, Dee Barnes of Caruthersville and Roland Barnes of Salem, Ill. Also survives are three grandchildren.
