I am uncertain whether William York was born in 1760 or 1761 as the son of Henry York and his first wife Eve Dorothy Weir. Birth in 1761 appears to be most likely considering the birth years of the other children in the Henry York's first family.
Randolph County was formed in 1779 from Guilford County which was formed from Orange County in 1770. We know from all the NC court records in 1790 that William York was the son of Henry York and nephew of Thomas York brother of Henry York.
