Sarah Woodward was born in the Tahlequah District, Cherokee Nation, the daughter of Redbird and Peggy (Dennis) Woodward. She married Johnson Fisher Sr and they were the parents of Johnson Jr., Moses, Ella, Isaac, Daisy, Ben and Charley. She was also the mother of Susie (Todd) and Dick (Adams) Fisher.
Sarah was listed as Cherokee by Blood on the Final Dawes Roll. She was buried in the Fisher Cemetery beside her husband, Johnson; and near her three children, Daisy, Ben and Charley, who all died as babies.
