OBITUARY
SPEARMAN - Magda Elizabeth Hamilton GARNETT, 85, died Wednesday, August 31, 2005.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Hansford Cemetery with Bishop J. Adam Garff officiating. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home.
Mrs. GARNETT was born January 20, 1920, in Anacoco, Louisiana. She had lived in the area since 1940, moving from Longview. She married Wesley H. GARNETT on November 20, 1940, in Spearman. She was a homemaker. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Spearman, where she taught children's Sunday school, Vacation Bible School and training union. She was a member of Fidelis Sunday school class and Women's Missionary Union. She was a former 4-H leader and was a member of 20th Century Club, Hansford County Library Board and OES No. 721 in Spearman.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Gillum and Eva HAMILTON; her husband in 1993; six brothers; and two sisters including Ada McLAIN of Spearman.
Survivors include two sons, Wesley GARNETT Jr. and wife, Nancy, of Wimberly and Mike GARNETT and wife, Marti, of Spearman; a daughter, Lynne RILEY and husband, Andrew, of Swainsboro, Ga.; nine grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
The family suggests memorials be to Hansford Hospice, 707 S. Roland St., Spearman, TX 79081; or Hansford County Library, 122 Main St., Spearman, TX 79081.
