Mary Alice McCarter, 90, of Oklahoma City, passed away January 7, 2006. She was born May 23, 1915 in Sweetwater, TX later moving to Oklahoma City where she met her husband Robert E. McCarter who preceded her in death in 1984. She worked for many years for the City of Oklahoma City Parks and Recreation Department. She is survived by her son Robert McCarter, San Antonio, TX, two daughters, Alice Newman of Honolulu, HI, and Judy Rogers, Piedmont, OK, 8 grandchildren, including Julie Ann Porter of Salinas, CA, who had formed a very special bond with her grandmother, 16 great-grandchildren and many other loving relatives. Private family services were held with Chapel Hill Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 6465 South Yale, Suite 206, Tulsa, OK 73102.
