BARKER, Dorothy Starling

Dorothy passed away November 30, 2004 in Auburn, California. The youngest of three, she was born October 28, 1920 in Ocilla, Georgia to Charles and Elizabeth Starling. She was raised in Akron, Ohio where she attended school. In 1942 she married Robert T. Barker and moved to California. They had three sons, Robert, Charles, and Duane.

Dorothy graduated from the Riviera Campus of The University of California in 1953. Her passion was teaching, and always a voracious reader, she spent her life sharing that love with everyone. She taught in the Santa Barbara City Schools from 1953 until her retirement in 1984. She lived in Santa Barbara until her move to Auburn in 2002.

She was preceded in death by her husband Robert T. Barker, and her son Duane Starling Barker.
