Mr. Jack Lee Bell, age 82, died at his residence under the care of Ogeechee Area Hospice. The Chatham County native was educated at Savannah High School and joined the U.S. Navy in 1949. Mr. Bell served in the U.S. Navy for 20 years and 10 years in the Fleet Reserve, retiring as Admiral's Fleet Leading Chief. He was a 1988 graduate of Georgia Southern University with a Bachelors of Science in Education and then began teaching Social Studies at Bryan County High School for several years. Jack was proud to have been born and raised in the Pentecostal Faith.

Mr. Bell was preceded in death by his parents, Lee Andrew and Annie Kate Long Bell; a daughter, Debbie Bell Jenkins and a grandson, C.J. Butler.

Surviving are his wife of 59 years, Thetis Williams Bell; a son and daughter-in-law, Jack and Pam Bell; two daughters and sons-in-law, Susan and Bill Forehand and Ann and Jerry Forehand; seven grandchildren, Michael Jenkins, Allen Jenkins, Scott Jenkins, Lt. Andrew "Tyler" Bell, Brie Bell, Leah Bell and Logyn Irving; Seven great grandchildren; two brothers, Jimmy and Michael Bell; his mother-in-law, Laura Lee Williams and a brother-in-law, Glenn Schafer. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
