Lawrence Arthur Bates, 67, beloved husband, father, and grandfather died January 24, 1980 in a Heber City hospital.
Born April 22, 1912, Orem to Hyrum Daniel and Bertha Kinsey Bates. Married Janet Mair June 7, 1937., Salt Lake City. Active member LDS Church. Served as home teacher, high priest and secretary of YMMIA. Retired miner.
Survivors, wife, Heber City; sons, George "Larry", Pleasant Grove; Willis "Butch", Aurora, CO; daughter, Mrs Frank (DeAnn) Huffman, Salt Lake City; sisters, Mrs Annie Shephard, Salt Lake City, Pearl Bates, Rexburg, ID; brother, Wallace Bates, Salt Lake City; 11 grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
Funeral, Saturday 1 pm, Heber 2nd LDS Ward Chapel. Friends may call at Olpin Mortuary, Heber City, Friday 8–9 pm and at the chapel Saturday prior to services. Burial, Heber City Cemetery.
