Abner Wiseman was born in Monroe county, West Virginia, and went, along with his father's family, to Gallia county, Ohio, in 1837. Growing to manhood, he married and lived at Waterloo, Ohio, until 1875, when he moved to Douglas county, Illinois, where he died. He was a farmer, and at the time of his death owned over three hundred acres of land near Camargo, Illinois. He was a member of the 173rd Ohio Volunteer Infantry in the Civil War. He was a man not only of generous impulses, but of conscientious life, and a devout Christian, zealous to a degree worthy of the highest emulation; was a member of the M.E.
