My mother, Mildred Gertrude Adsit Quackenbush was born in 1912 in New York City to James Noble Adsit and Marie Gertrude Schreiber Adsit. She married Lyle Milton Quackenbush 17 Feb. 1935 at Grace Episcopal Church in Nyack, NY. She and her husband, Lyle Milton, married for 62 years, raised two children. A resident of Tomkins Cove for over 60 years, mother was a member of the Episcopal Women's Church group at St. John the Divine Episcopal Church in the town.
