He was born at home in Fillmore, CA. He always had a true love for animals, nature, the mountains and the ocean, but most of all, he loved pending time with hs family. He attended Fillmore High School and was a member of the 1946 CIF football champions. He spent the majority of his life working in the construction field, running his own business Maxwell Construction, until his retirement in 1994. Don loved his work and after retirement, he enjoyed gardening in back yard and sharing vegetables he grew with family and friends. Some people will remember Don as the unofficial greeter at his daughter's restaurant Moe's Philly Steak and Subs.

Don is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Lois; children, Marjorie Mosley and her husband Gene, of Oxnard, Don Maxwell of Clovis, Ca.; and Elizabeth Maxwell-Robinson of Bodfish, CA; grandchildren are Michelle Mosley-Alfred, Casey Robinson, Jim Maxwell, Jennifer Maxwell-Thrush and Flint Robinson; and great grandchildren, Kyler, Paul, Eddie, Stevie and Megan.

Don will be dearly missed by his family and close friends. His laughter and humorous stories will be missed much by all who knew and loved him. He had a gift of building up a story, providing anticipatory pauses and then delivering a knee slapping punch line that would have everyone roaring with laughter.

He was a wonderful Husband, Father and Grandfather. He may be gone but will NEVER be forgotten.
