Cora Smith Becker, aged 70 years, widow of the late Stephen Becker, died at her home in the town of Palermo on Monday evening, March 6, 1933, following an illness of several weeks.
Mrs. Smith was born in the town of Parish August 5, 1862, daughter of Hiram Smith and Mary Burgess. For the past 21 years she had been a resident of the town of Palermo and was member of Palermo Granite Grange.
Surviving are three brothers, Warren of Parish, Merritt of Lamsons, and Charles Smith of West Monroe, NY; one sister, Mrs. George Peet of Parish.
Last rites were held from her late home on Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock, Rev. Ira Owens, pastor of the Upson Corners Methodist Episcopal church officiating. Interment was in Roosevelt cemetery. The bearers were Seymour Smith, Charles Thiebeau, Chauncy Jennings and Homer Sampson.
