She was born, and grew up in, Yuma, Arizona.
Ethel and her mother were in a car accident n Jun 19, 1978 that resulted in both their deaths. She had filed for divorce from Harold Maffett, but apparently it wasn't final at time she died. It has been said she was living with her mother [recently disputed.]
She was preceded in death by her father, Frank Hobson "F.H." Hollis. Ethel and her mother died as a result of the same car accident.
She was survived by her siblings, Clarice Drucilla Hollis (Joe) Caiazzo of Yuma, Arizona; Harold Clyde (Cheryl Rae nee: Schmidt) Hollis of Newhall, California; Erwin Wesley Hollis and Norma Jean HOLLIS Eberhardt, both of California.
Ethel is buried at Forest Lawn Memorial Park (Hollywood Hills) as are her parents.
