ELLENBURG- Francis A. Dumas, 79, of 1613 Star Road died Saturday, April 29, 1995 at home. Born in Ellenburg June 21 1915, he was the son of Frank and Genny (LaFrancis)Dumas. Mr. Dumas attended local schools and was employed by Republic Steel in Lyon Mountain for 16 years as foreman of the mines. He later was self-employed as a serviceman doing heating, electrical and plumbing until he retired. He was a member fo St. Edmund's Church. He married May 27, 1939, to Beatrice LaClair in St. Edmund's Church in Ellenburg. Besides his wife of 56 years, he leaves four grandchildren, Ross Dumas of Ellenburg, Terry Dumas of Lake Park, Fla., Penny Dumas Watts of Plattsburgh and Susan Dumas LaDuke of Ellenburg Center; two brothers, Raymond Dumas of Long Beach,N.J., and Gilbert Dumas of Potsdam; two sisters, Theresa Monroe of Brasher Falls and Cecelia Dinahue of Red Hook; seven great-grandchildren. Two sons, Ross and Roger Dumas, and four brothers, Paul, Larry, John and Carl Dumas, all died earlier. Calling hours will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the the Chateaugay Funeral Home. A prayer vigil will be held at 8 p.m. A funeral Mass will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at St. Edmund's Church, with the Re. Gilbert menard officiating. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Clinton County Hospice, Plattsburgh.
