ABRAMS, Mary "Lucille" age 77 of Fairfield Township went home to be with her beloved husband of 59 years, Leo, on Tuesday May 12, 2009. Leo and Jesus were waiting at the gates of Heaven with open arms. She was born in Madison County, Kentucky on April 12, 1932 the daughter of Granville and Bertha (Lamb) Casteel; she was raised by her father and stepmother, Glatha (Senters) Casteel. Lucille was employed as a nurse's aide at Fairfield Nursing Home and was a very faithful member of Baptist Chapel. She was a devoted mother and grandmother who enjoyed cooking, sewing and fishing. On January 21, 1949 in Richmond, Kentucky she married Leo Abrams, and he preceded her in death in 2008, they are together forever. She is survived by nine children, Connie (Joe) Carbone, Ronald Abrams, Leo Abrams Jr., Gale (Fred) Baker, John (Lisa) Abrams, Mary (David) Wells, Jerry (Billie) Abrams, Candace (Donnie) White, and Cathy (Larry) Sherbs; two brothers, Kenneth (Della) Casteel and William Lloyd (Vicki) Reece; a sister, Martha Bell Spears; 22 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; a loving sister-in-law, Ellen (Luther) Abrams; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, Billy, Joe, and Cecil Casteel. Funeral service will be held at Baptist Chapel, 2019 Wayne-Madison Road, on Monday, May 18, 2009 at 12:00 noon with Pastor Fred Baker officiating. Burial will follow in Butler County Memorial Park. Visitation will be held at the church on Monday from 10:00 AM to 12:00 noon. The family extends a heartfelt thank you to all the nurses, physicians and their staffs who cared for Lucille.
