Married Nov. 6, 1849 in Loudoun Co. to Sarah Ellen Williams. They were the parents of: Henry, Israel W., Stephen, Burr F., George, Mary Esther Spring, Samuel L., Silas, Thomas, Ellen Compher and Charles W.
Sarah died, and on Sept. 30, 1885 at Leesburg, Loudoun Co., Samuel married Annie Pearl (Bates) Stout, widow of Henry Clay Stout. They were the parents of Odie, Minnie and Roger.
A brief notice of Samuel's death was in the May 10, 1895 Brunswick (Maryland) Herald, saying only that he died at his home near Taylorstown and that "interment was in the M.E. churchyard". I believe his grave is probably unmarked, since it does not appear on a transcription of the cemetery. His wife Annie is here, his first wife Sarah may be here in an unmarked grave.
Samuel has a very large number of descendants.
