Margaret was born to parents Springer Speer and Ann Greenhalgh in Pennsylvania. 2 year old Margaret Speer was living with her parents in Christiana Hundred, New Castle County, Delaware on the 1860 census. She married Thomas H. Latimer November 19, 1876 in Chester, Delaware County, Pennsylvania. They resided in Wilmington, Delaware and had two children, Mabel and Roy. She died at the age of 25 during pregnancy due to complications of pregnancy, probably preeclampsia. There is no information as to what happened to the baby, I would assume it died with her.
