Edward C. Marsh, son of a former pastor of the Portland Congregational church, who left this place about 50 years ago, accidentally shot and killed himself while hunting in New York state, Sunday. Mr. Marsh was born in Portland and studied at the Chicago university and the University of Michigan, later becoming head of the McMillan companies and about a year ago became associated with Harper Bros. He was widely known as an editorial adviser and short story writer.

Mr. Marsh is survived by his widow, who was Miss Helen Church, daughter of General Nathan Church, of Ithaca, Michigan.
