FROSTBURG — Donald Thomas "Pete" Folk, 61, of Frostburg, went to be with the Lord and Savior on Saturday, Feb. 25, 2012, at the Western Maryland Regional Medical Center.
Born Oct. 8, 1950, in Frostburg, he was the son of the late Thomas Folk and Sophia (Lashbaugh) Folk and Betty Gordon McKenzie. He is also preceded in death by sons Derek Folk and Greg Folk.
Pete enjoyed life immensely and he loved putting a smile on everyone's face. His favorite pastimes were camping, fishing, hunting, and his animal companions were the joy of his life. He worked at Schroeder Industries and was Methodist by faith.
He is survived by his loving wife of 24 years, Debra (Rader) Folk; daughters, Denise Twigg and husband Kevin, of Pennsylvania and Stephanie Tressler and husband Tom, of Oldtown; seven grandchildren; brother, Gerald Gordon and wife Hilda, of Eckhart; sisters, Bonnie Michaels, of Eckhart, Cathy Wagner and husband Wayne, of Oldtown and Diane Sisler and husband Gary, of Mount Storm; several nieces and nephews, two great-nieces and two great-nephews.
Friends will be received at the Sowers Funeral Home on Wednesday, Feb. 29, 2012, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted in the funeral home on Thursday, March 1, 2012, at 1 p.m. with the Rev. George M. Harpold officiating.
Interment will be in Frostburg Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Tom Tressler, David Wagner, Mike Kitzmiller, Dwight Myers, Travis Green, and Michael Griffin.
