WATER VALLEY, Ky.--
Hoy Edward Boyd, 76, of Water Valley died at 10 a.m. Thursday at Birchtree Healthcare in Clinton.
He was a lifetime resident of Graves County and a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, serving in the Korean War. He was a retired farmer. He was a member of Bayou De Chien Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Water Valley and a member of the Operating Engineers Local 181 in Paducah and the Masonic Lodge in Water Valley.
He is survived by two sons, Rickie Lynn Boyd of South Fulton, Tenn., and Dale Edward Boyd of Water Valley; four sisters, Ozelle Payne of Fulton, Osella Barnes of Water Valley, Elsie Laws of Wingo, and Anna Sue Laird of Houston; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Goldie Marie Boyd; two sisters; and a brother. His parents were Jack and Lottie McNeal Boyd.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Hornbeak Funeral Home. The Rev. Gerald Barnes, Rev. Gayle Barnes, and Rev. Danny Potts will officiate.
Friends may call after 5 p.m. today and after 8 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
