DZURO, Jeanie J. 84, of Urbana, passed away Saturday, February 25, 2012 in her home. She was born January 1, 1928 in Cable, OH the daughter of Robert and Jeanie (Jamieson) McCubbin. Jeanie was a graduate of North Lewisburg High School and the White Cross Riverside School of Nursing. Prior to nursing school, Jeanie attended The Ohio State University where she met her husband, Stephen Dzuro. She served her country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. Jeanie's passion in life was nursing. She retired from Summa Health Systems (Akron City Hospital) after 20 years of service. Jeanie had a very broad knowledge in all areas of nursing. Prior to retiring she was in charge of the Emergency Room, ICU and Cardiac Care ICU Units. She was a devoted wife who spent the last years of her husband's life as his constant companion and caregiver. She is survived by her children, Stephen D. Dzuro and Jeanie J. (William) Denkewalter both of Urbana and her granddaughter, Faith Raegan Denkewalter. Jeanie is preceded in death by her parents; her husband; brothers, Robert, Keator, Alexander and John McCubbin; and sisters, Janet Griffin and Agnes Lee. A gathering of family and friends will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Monday, February 27, 2012 in the VERNON FUNERAL HOME, Urbana. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday in the funeral home with Pastor David Buchenroth officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery in Richfield, OH. Memorial contributions may be made to the Cancer Association of Champaign County, PO Box 38125, Urbana, OH 43078 or to the Disabled American Veterans, PO Box 14301, Cincinnati, OH 45290.
