Mary E. Hancock Succumbs at 87

Wolf Creek (RNS) - Mrs. Mary (Mamie) Ethel Hancock, 87, of Wolf Creek, died Friday at a Fairlea nursing home after a long illness.

She was a member of the Broad Run Baptist Church of Wolf Creek.

Born at Prince March 19, 1883, we was a daughter of the late Bishop Clark and Martha Carper Woods.

Her husband, Charles Edward Hancock, died in 1962.

Survivors include three sons, Charles Edward Hancock, Jr. of Alderson, Thomas Elton of Purcellville, Va., and Clifford M. Hancock of Norwalk, Va., three daughters, Miss Margaret Hancock of Greenville, Md., Mrs. Nelle Smithson of Arlington, Va., and Mrs. Lorraine Speed of Mount View, Ark.; a brother Hank Woods of Roseville, N.M; two sisters, Mrs. Dixie McManamay of Charleston and Mrs. Jessie Neal of Beckley; 11 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

The body is at the Lobban Funeral Home in Alderson.
