Norma Jean Brooks, age 77, of Knightstown, died Friday, January 19, 2001 at Hancock Memorial Hospital in Greenfield following a brief illness. She was born May 1, 1923 in Shelby Co., IN, the daughter of James and Lenora (Stephens) Hughbanks. She was a lifelong homemaker.
Survivors include a daughter, Linda (James) Newkirk of Knightstown; four grandchildren: Robin Brooks of Indianapolis, Andrea Newkirk of Knightstown, Jennifer Brooks of Kennebunkport, ME and Jimmie B. (Melanie) Brooks of Knightstown; one great granddaughter, Alexis Marsh; daughter-in-law, Janis Brooks of Kennebunkport, ME; and nieces and nephews.
Norma was preceded in death by her husband, Frank S. Brooks in 1984; son, David L. Brooks in 1999; and a granddaughter, Allison P. Newkirk in 1981.
Services will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday, January 22, 2001 at Condo & Son Funeral Home in Wilkinson with Chaplain Darrell Haines officiating. Friends may call from 2-6 p.m. Sunday, January 21, 2001 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Glen Cove Cemetery in Knightstown.
