Bernard C. (Barney) Rivers, 69, of Dayton, Ohio, formerly of Rollingstone, died Friday (July 4, 1986) at his home.
He was born April 19, 1917, to Edward Sr., and Johanna Johns Rivers in Rollingstone. He and Dorothy Thompson married in 1942, in Rollingstone, spending most of their
life in Ohio.

He was a member of the United States Army in Europe during World War II, and received the Purple Heart.

He was a retired co-owner of Riverdale Ice and Beer Company of Dayton; a member of D.A.V. and Saint Rita's Catholic church; Miami Valley County Club; and the Nights of
Columbus, all of Ohio. He was a 50-yeaar member of the St. Nicholas Society of Rollingstone.

Survivors are his wife; three brothers, Norbert of Rochester, Minn., Paul of Winona, and Arthur of Vandalia, Ohio; two sisters, Alvira Wisel of Dayton, and Sister M.
Johann Rivers of Winona.

Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Holy Trinity Catholic church of Rollingstone, the Father Lewis Cook and Msgr. Roy Literski officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 11:30 a.m. Wednesday until the time of the service at the church. Hoff Funeral Home of Rollingstone is in charge of arrangements.
