Walter Wilfred Curry, Sr. passed away peacefully Saturday, February 4, 2012 at his home in Churchville, MD surrounded by his family. He was 81.
Born June 16, 1930 in Havre de Grace (Rock Run), MD, he was the son of the late Charles M. and Marie (Dudeck) Curry.

Mr. Curry retired from Aberdeen Proving Ground where he worked as a Master
Woodcrafter for 35 years. He received numerous commendations and awards for his skill, technical excellence and perfection in his craftsmanship. He is a veteran and served in the US Army during the Korean War and was honorably discharged. He was a loving father, grandfather, loyal friend and handyman who enjoyed making fine furniture, working with his hands and fixing things. He also loved working in his garden and always looked forward to spending time with his grandchildren.

Mr. Curry is survived by his sons: Walter (Will) Curry, Jr. and wife Colleen of Ft. Pierce, FL and Michael Curry and his wife Sarah of Atlanta, GA; daughters: Tammy Owen and husband Brent of Port St. Lucie, FL and Terry Easter and husband Henry (Butch) of Aberdeen; grandchildren: Lindsay Easter, Mackenzie and Jillian Owen, Emily and Megan Curry, and Oliver Curry; brothers: Frank Curry and wife Jackie of Darlington and Donald Curry and wife Mitzie of Port Deposit; sisters: Dorothy Worthington, Helen Hoshall, Bessie Bowman and husband Bill, Evelyn Mahan and husband Melvin, and sister-in-law Treva Curry, all of Havre de Grace. He is also survived by his "adopted" son Chris Vendetti and many, many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his brothers: George, Roy and
Charles M. Curry, Jr. and sisters: Lillian Curry, Elsie Curry, and Margorie Burkentine.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, February 9th from 2-4 and 7-9pm at the Tarring-Cargo Funeral Home in Aberdeen. A Memorial service, conducted by Paul Simmons, will be held on Friday, February 10th at 11:00am. Interment with military honors will be held at Rock Run Cemetery. Will Curry, Michael Curry, Donald Curry, Butch Easter, Brent Owen and Chris Vendetti will serve as Pallbearers. Frank Curry, Mackenzie Owen and Danny Curry will serve as honorary Pallbearers.
