As an infant, Barbara moved with her family to Dusty, WA. In 1924 her family settled down in Ritzville, Washington.
In 1927 Barbara married Jacob Ottmar, they made their home for a year in the Penewawa Washington area. They decided then to move on the outskirts of Ritzville, Washington where they farmed the land and raised a family for the next 32 years. In 1960 they then moved into the Ritzville city limits.
Barbara was a member of the Philadelphia Congregational church,Ritzville Hospital Auxiliary as well as the Grittman Senior Center. Her Husband Jacob Passed away in 1990 after 66 years of marriage. Survivors include Daughter Lois Strohmaier of Lind, Washington and Son Arlo Ottmar of Ritzville, Washington. Barbara left behind 5 grandchildren, 6 Great-Grandchildren, 4 step-Grandchildren and 5 step-great-grandchildren.
