Frank Walter Crowder, son of James and Mahala Crowder, was born January 1, 1853 in Pike County, near
Nebo. He departed this life March 14th, 1924 at the age of 70years, 2 months and 13 days.

He was united in marriage to Almira Hutchinson. To this union two children were born, Hallie Conroy and
Leonard, both of Pittsfield. By a former marriage he has four children: Myrtle Cloninger of Pittsfield, James of
Decatur, Ill., Harry of Los Angeles, Calif., and Guy of Pike Station, all surviving.

Besides the wife and children he leaves to mourn his departure three sisters: Nancy Ash and Ica Phena Ralston
of Pleasant Hill, and Elizabeth Lewis of Los Angeles, Calif., three half sisters Jennie Scranton of Milton, and Etta
Weidner and Laura Pearce, both of St Louis, Mo. One sister Ella Weaver ahd a brother Austin Crowder,
proceded him to the great beyond.

He united with the Christian Church in Pleasant Hill in February 1910 and remained true to this faith until the
end.

Mr. Crowder was born in Pike County and laived tiled his entire life with in its borders. Until he took charge of
the County farm six years ago, he had always engaged in farming. He was a hard worker and was not always
successful in his business ventures, but he was a man of even temper, indulgent to his family and considerate of
his friends. He was a good neighbor, a good citizen and enjoyed the high regard of his neighbors. As
Superintendent of the county farm, he was kindly sympathetic to the unfortunate and tender as a father in his
ministrations to their wants.
The funeral service was held Monday afternoon at 1:30 in the Christian Church in Pittsfield in charge of Rev. H.
E. Keltner. Interment in the west cemetery.
