J. L. Hartsell, age 75, passed away Wednesday night, November 20th at his home two miles south of Fulton following a long illness. He was a member of one of Itawamba's older leading families, and widely known. He lived in the third district for many years before moving near Fulton several years ago.
Funeral services were held at New Salem last Thursday afternoon with Rev. W.C. Mattox, pastor of the New Salem Methodist Church, conducting.
Surviving are his wife and three sisters, Mrs. G.W. Mullins of Fulton, Mrs. A.M. Wiygul of Carolina and Mrs. Hattie Parrish of Hatley in Monroe County.
