Aged Citizen Died Last Week

Mrs. Capitola Upham-Chamberlin died in the home of her brother-in-law, Fred Chamberlin last Sunday mourning after a short illness and funeral services were held in the Porter M.E. church Tuesday morning and internment in the Bly Cemetery, Marcellus. Rev Catherine Miller of Grand Rapids officiated at the service.
Capitola Upham was born Sept. 28, 1858 in Akron, Ohio and passed away in Paw Paw last Sunday mourning at the age of 82 years.
She came to Michigan with her parents in 1861 locating in Porter Township and in 1875 was married to Frank Chamberlin and to the Union one daughter was born who passed away in March, 1933.
Mr. Chamberlin having preceded her in death in 1928, Mrs. Chamberlin’s whole life spent in Porter Township until three years ago when she came to live with Mr. and Mrs. Fred Chamberlin here in Paw Paw where she has been given every care and comfort.
She is survived by two brothers Nelson Upham of Columbus, Ohio and D.B. Upham of Lawton.
