Lida Fay Sipes 89,of Hooks, Texas died Monday March 15,2004 in a New Boston, Texas nursing home. Mrs. Sipes was born October 28,1914 in Stamps, Ark. She was a homemaker and member of Iris Garden Club, Order of the Eastern Star and Myrtle Springs Baptist Church. She was preceaded in death by her husband, John M. Sipes. Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Johnnie B. and Cornelia Sipes and Walter B. and Susie Sipes of Hooks; one daughter, Dorothy Lockman of Avery, Texas; seven grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. Services will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Chapelwood Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Cranford Graves and Harold Churchill officiating. Burial will be in Chapelwood Memorial Gardens.
