Alma Roberts, age 96 of Nixa, died Thursday, February 23, 2012. She was born June 2, 1915 in Christian County, Missouri, the daughter of Ed and Ethel (Maples) Peebles. On April 28, 1938 she married Jesse Roberts who preceded her in death. Alma was a member of North Nixa Baptist Church. She enjoyed her long time correspondent prison ministry and at one time had 25 prisoners she was helping. Survivors include numerous cousins; her church friends; and her friends from the senior citizen housing where she resided many years. In addition to her husband, Alma was preceded in death by her parents. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 28, 2012 in Adams Funeral Home, Nixa, with Pastor Jerry Francisco officiating. Burial will follow in Frazier Cemetery, Boaz. Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. Tuesday in the funeral home immediately before the funeral. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to North Nixa Baptist Church ministries.
