"Mrs. Queen Alma Barker, 221 12 Howell street, passed away at 8 p.m. Sunday at Mercy hospital after an illness of a week's duration.
The deceased was born Oct. 24, 1886 at Audubon, Ia. She was united in marriage to Albert Barker in 1915 at Sioux City, Ia. the couple came to Davenport seven years ago and have since resided here. Mrs. Barker was a member of the Mystic Workers of America, Morning Sun lodge, No. SS3.
Surviving are her husband, two sons Earl Franklin, and William Edward Barker, Davenport; one daughter, Mrs. Eldora Eckmann, Bend, Ore.; two sisters, Mrs. Cedalia Wimenauer, Audubon, and Mrs. Blance Ehly, Anita, Ia.; four brothers, Frank Alley, Oakland, Cal., Clarence, Omaha, Nebr., James and Alfred, Audubon, Ia.
The body was removed to the Runge mortuary and will be sent to Audubon where funeral services will be held at a later date."

Note 1: The Mystic Workers of America was a fraternal benefit society founded in 1896; in 1930, the name changed to Fidelity Life Association, and is known today as Fidelity Life.

Note 2: Her daughter, Eldora was from her previous marriage to Charles F. Eakman.
