Allen rites held at Wortham

WORTHAM - Funeral services for Truman Allen, Sr., 72, were held today at 2 in Corley-Porter Funeral Chapel.
The Rev. Larry Gosser and the Rev. Brian Anderson officiated. Burial was in Woodland Cemetery, near Kirvin.
Mr. Allen, a resident of Wortham, died Tuesday morning in Wortham Hospital. He was born Oct. 1, 1911, in Navarro County.
He was a member of the Mexia Pentecostal Church of God and had worked for Gulf Oil Co. for 40 years before retiring.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Ruby Allen of Wortham; four sons, Kenneth Allen, Jimmy Wayne Allen, of Richard, Gene Allen of Wortham, and Truman Allen, of Chicago, Ill.
Also, two daughters, Nelda Harrington of Ward Prairie and Mrs. Patsy Frank of Garland; three sisters, Ruby Calame of Wortham, Ollie Hogan of Kirvin and Wanda Deshayes of Houston.
Grandsons served as pallbearers.
Corley-Porter Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
