CURTIS, EDITH EDWARDS - age 88, of Fountain City, passed away Wednesday evening at St Mary's Medical Center. The widow of Ernest Almer Sr., she was a member of Inskip United Methodist Church. She retired from Southern Bell with over 25 years of service. She was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America. Survivors: daughter and son-in-law, Janice and Louis Woolf, Knoxville; sons and daughters-in-law, E. Al Jr. and Lola Curtis of Knoxville, John R. and Anne Curtis, Corsicana, Texas,; grandchildren, Dedie Stansberry, Cynthis McEaddy, Tina Curtis Hemry, Chris Curtis Burton, Steve Woolf, and Alex Woolf; four great-grandchildren; several nephews. Family and friends will meet at 1:15 p.m. Saturday at the entrance to Greenwood Cemetery for graveside service at 1:30 p.m., Rev. Lee Lee Castor and Rev. Paul Castor officiating. Friends may call at their convenience at Gentry-Griffey Chapel.
