In 1910, 1920, 1930 and 1940, he may be found with his second wife and various children on the censuses of Lincoln, Lancaster County, Nebraska. He was employed at an automobile factory, making or assembling tops (?) in 1910 & 1920, and as a general laborer in 1930. In 1940, he was an upholstery repairman in private business.
A son by his first wife married in Los Angeles County in 1915 and a daughter, also by the first wife, married there in 1931. Two daughters by his second wife married there in 1944 and 1945, so it seems likely William and his second wife had moved there by 1944.
