FUNERAL RITES FOR MRS. MARY COLBORN -
Mr. and Mrs. Alvah Gee returned home Thursday of last week from Los Angeles, California where they had gone to attend the funeral of Mrs. Gee's mother, Mrs. Mary Virginia Colborn.
Services were held Saturday April 3, at 1 p.m. in Forest Lawn Memorial Park's Little Church of the Flowers, and interment made at Forest Lawn. Mrs. Colborn died Wednesday, March 31, at over 87 years.
Mary Goodrich was born August 17, 1866 in Indiana, and came to Merrick County, Nebraska, with her parents in 1872. She lived in the Loup Valley until her marriage to Hiram T. Colborn in 1884. Mr. and Mrs. Colborn lived on a farm three miles south of Palmer, moving to California in 1919, where she has resided for 35 years in the southland area of Los Angeles. Mr. Colborn passed away about 25 years ago.
Mrs. Colborn leaves four daughters, Mrs. Gertrude Smith of Sacramento, California, Mrs. Etoile Gee of Palmer, Nebraska, Mrs. Katherine Izer of Santa Paula, Cal, Mrs. Jessie Mordaunt of Los Angeles; three sons, Ben of Palmer, Lisle Colborn of Compton, California and Avery S. Colborn of Santa Paula, California; 22 grandchildren and 38 great-grandchildren.
