At the Pawhuska Hospital at 8:30 o'clock on Tuesday morning John Pappin a well known citizen passed away.
Mr. Pappin was taken with a severe attack of appendicitus last Friday and was operated Sunday morning and again Monday evening.
However no attempt was made to remove the appendixus as he had delayed the matter too long, having had an attack some time ago. He had planned to have the appendix removed but was waiting for cooler weather when the attack came the caused his death.
John Pappin was 49 years old the 10th of last March. He was conscious up to the time of his death and made all arrangements for that in detail. He called to his bedside each one of his children and relatives an prayed for them and had them promise to meet him in heaven kissed each one and bade them goodbye, he then sang two hymns "Tis so Sweet to Trust in Jesus" and " I am happy with Jesus alone". He put his business matters in shape arranged the place of burial requesting that there be no hearse or flowers and got ready for the event as calmlly as if he had been preparing for an ordinary journey.
In compliance with his request the funeral services will be held at the Cemetery leaving the home at one o'clock Friday afternoon. Rev. Day conducting the services.
