Her mother was Sarah Fullerton.Sarah married John Cobb and had three children: Marian, James and Thomas who died as a child.1850 census shows them living in Pickens County Alabama. Shortly after this John died and Sara married a man with the surname of Cohen. In 1853 Louisiana was born and her father died when she was a baby. Sarah remarried again in 1858 to Mark Meeks and had one more child: Willa Meeks Kerley. Lou's third son John Cohen Allison was named after his grandfather.
