NEWPORT NEWS - Michael Jerome Allen II "MJ" was born Feb. 18, 1994, in Newport News, Va., to Michael Allen and Robin Haynes.

He passed away unexpectedly on Friday, Feb. 17, 2012, and was given back to God.

Michael was an 11th grade student at An Achievable Dream Middle & High School. He was a bright student whose future career aspiration was to become a Neurosurgeon. He wanted to make a difference in the world by helping others who were affected by seizures. Michael was a member of Restoration & Faith Ministry under Pastor Thurman Leonard.

Michael was preceded in death by his brother, Michael Allen I; and grandfathers, Calvin Boone and Clarence Everett.

Left to cherish his memory are his parents, Michael Allen and Robin Haynes; brother, Jordan Allen; sister, Mikayla Allen; paternal grandparents, Charles and Esther Allen; maternal grandmother; Shirley Everett, godmother, Grate Artis; a host of uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends.

A viewing will be held from noon to 6 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 22, 2012, at the funeral home and two hours prior to the service at the church on Thursday. A homegoing celebration, in Michael's honor, will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 23, 2012, at Restoration & Faith Ministry, 2114 Wickham Avenue, Newport News, Va. Interment will follow in Hampton Memorial Gardens. Cooke Brothers Funeral Chapel is honored to serve the family.
