We can only re-construct the life of Joseph from records his life left behind. We know that some measure of contact between Joseph and his son Darius must have been there due to the small reference to Darius in the history of Pennsylvania families.
A small portion indeed however it states Joseph's son Darius was married and living in Missouri so we must assume they at least knew where he was at that time.
Joseph was born according to Pennsylvania records May 1798 in Pennsylvania to John Peter Klopp the 3rd and Elizabeth Fidler, daughter of Johann Heinrich(Henry) Fidler and Maria Magdalena Schauer.
.Church records of Trinity Tulphocken reformed Church in Lebanon County Pennsylvania show his marriage to Christine Stein in the year 1819, The daughter of Johannes Stein and Cristina Lenig.
From this marriage ten children were born namely: Anna, Darius, Priscillia, Amanda, Christianna, Sarah, Jonathan, Benjamin, Reuben and Jacob.
Census records show that Joseph was a tiller of the soil throughout his life as his occupation is listed as farmer on all available census records . After the death of his wife Christine in the year 1847 he re-married to Catherine Reidi and from this marriage according to records there were no children born. Darius places his father as being born in Pennsylvania and his mother as having been born in England on the 1900 census in Missouri. However we find this not to be true as according to Pennsylvania church records she was born in Pennsylvania.
In later years after the death of his second wife Catherine Reidi ,Joseph is living with his son Ephraim on the 1870 census and his daughter Pricilla and her husband Monroe Ernst in North Heidelberg, Berks County, Pennsylvania in 1880. Joseph it states is now 82 years of age and still farming.
Joseph 's head stone records at St. Daniel Cemetery, Heidelberg Twp., Berks County, Pa. reads: Joseph Klopp
married Christina Stein , married Catherine Riedi born April 5 1798 and died september 17 1881.
